Personal Work
quake champions: patriot
2008. Another Q3: Arena model I did just for fun. I was a big fan of the Quake titles back in the day. Learned alot of what I know today by studying the art in old school FPS games like Quake and Unreal. I had an idea that I would build a hi-res re-envisioning of my favorite characters from Quake 3: Arena. Seemed like a good idea at the time but alas, lack of free time got the best of me and I couldn’t do all of the characters but I got a couple done.
The original patriot model had a crazy mech claw for a left hand. I thought that if bringing the ideas to modern day I should go with something more terminator-ish.

Hunter was the character I usually played as in Q3: Arena. I think it was because I liked her voice over work. Even though back then it was only short grunts and screams, I thought Id got alot of character across with such small sound bites.
dominance war 4: final
2009. I don’t hate it but I also don’t love it. This big dude and his two gal pals were put together in my spare time for Dominance War 4 while also under a tight deadline at work. I felt pretty good about in that I saw what I could put together under a very tight deadline. I also had some fun fitting multiple characters into a polygon count that the contest was reserving for just 1 or 2. I like to finish what I start, so I finished him. Maybe next year…
Hi res models can be seen here.
dominance war 4 hi res models
2009. These were my hi res models for Dominance War 4. If you’ve ever done Dominance War I’m sure you know what its like to juggle that contest plus a full-time day job
In hindsight I should have come up with a cooler idea but practicing some modeling under a tight deadline was worthwhile. Though it was rushed and I wasn’t so thrilled with my final entry, it did give me a chance to practice some ZBrush modeling. Which is never a bad thing.
You can see the final here.
